Valery Nardacci of Scituate Rhode Island, draws artistic inspiration from nature. She approaches artwork openly, with a goal of capturing the essence of what is observed. Through this fluid process, the contrast and nuances of inventive color schemes emerge as Valery balances representation with abstract impressionistic qualities. Valery holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from Rhode Island College. At RIC, she began to develop her skills in teaching, painting and printmaking. From there, Valery grew as both an artist and educator simultaneously. Valery’s next completed her Masters in Fine Arts at Umass Dartmouth where she studied figurative oil painting. Along with oil painting, media explorations have included gouache painting, gesture drawing, and printmaking. Valery has concentrated on still-life as a subject for the past decade and most recently created a series of monotype printmaking inspired by gestural tree sketches.
